Hello again,

For those that don't know the IC gallery on 419 Georgia St. has closed its doors as of the end of January, but that doesn't mean IC as a whole has disbanded in any way. A few updates:

- We are currently in talks with Ozcat radio in Vallejo to throw OSS at their Radio Station/Venue dubbed The Emerald Room. Once finalized, the show may be thrown on the 4th Saturday of March.
- IC is now working on getting official non-profit status.
- Tuesday night meetings will still be held weekly, usually at the McShellBucks (McDonalds/Shell Gas/Starbucks Combo) just off of I-80 in Vallejo. If you have an interest in attending please e-mail me at atunac@gmail.com and I will let you know the location each week.
- We have not completely excluded the idea of opening another IC gallery in Vallejo at a later time.

Thanks to everyone who came through and supported/collaborated/performed/displayed/help clean/everything else at the IC gallery throughout the year we were open. Much appreciated.

Hey IC . I'm Back! Happy Belate Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!

I hope you had a fun Black Friday because mine was just well...BLACK!

It rained while I was at work, I found out I have to move from my new place, and I'm not going

to be going to Florida for work at Seaworld. Ugh.. The Devil's startin' up mess again!

Well I heard one of my fave Christmas tunes at the Park. It was a cover of WHAM!'s " Last Christmas". I loved the song when I was kid! My sis was a big WHAM! head back in the 80's.

So I did an illustration/speed paint inspired by the song. Check out the youtube link above and listen to the song and look at the pic. To be honest it is a bit true for me. As much as the I love Christmas , I often feel sad about not having a relationship. I would give my heart and only have it turned away and it's been like that since I was young. So related to this song especially with current events in my life after my Mother's Passing. So Enjoy..

What up IC nation! Wonderland has been an amazing project and experience to work on!
It's been a great pleasure working with my teammates Jonathan Fung, Eric Otto, and Monika Jones on this powerful art installation! Wonderland as well as DTRH has been making major
waves in the media. I did the initial concept for the proposal which is the above image. It was great being apart of the production design. Everyone did a terrific job and took the audience into
the eyes of the victims of Human Trafficking. Please come see the show on it's last

hey all a few of us are meeting up at the studio at 4:30pm this saturday, the 11th, for this event my friend karlson is helping out with/apart of . we already have a booth confirmed, now all i need are a few artist to come through. we're allowed to sell, paint, display, hang out, and partake in the festivities- the usual. if you decide to sell anything you can keep whatever profits you make or to donate a percentage of it to the "green" cause, it's up to you and no worries on what you decide to do. just let me know if you're down. i dunno how many our booth will accommodate but i'm sure we have room for a few more people...

IC Blows it up for the 2nd straight year, this time as the featuring artists! The idea was to do a huge gumball machine holding prize capsules of all of our characters at the intersection of Georgia and Santa Clara... Other than a bus illegally driving through the top of the piece (WTF Paddle!) the event was a home run and gave us yet another chance to show Vallejo what kind of talent exists right here! Great job to all IC members and be sure to check out our flickr to see more detail shots!

SO A COUPLE DAYS AGO I POSTED A BLOG ABOUT SOMEONE PUTTING UP A HUGE STICKER OR WHEATPASTE IN OUR GALLERY. NOBODY IN INDIVIDUAL COLLECTIVE KNEW WHO IT WAS AND IT REMAINED A MYSTERY UNTIL TODAY. BUT UNTIL I GET TO THAT LET ME START OFF MY SAYING IT WAS MY BAD ON BLASTING IT ONLINE WITHOUT MORE DETAILS, SO HERE IS HOW THE STORY GOES...

THURSDAY: CRIS EDWARDS WALKS IN THE STUDIO AND A HUGE PASTEUP IS AGAINST THE CEILING AND MASS TEXTS AND TWITTERS EVERYONE IN IC. EVERYONE IS SHOCKED AND AMAZED AT WHAT HAPPENED AND NO ONE KNOWS WHO IT IS. PEOPLE START PUTTING THE BLAME ON PEOPLE.

FRIDAY: ANOTHER HUGE PASTEUP IS ON THE GALLERY WALL AS WELL AS 'UNDERGROUND COLLECTIVE' NEXT TO 'INDIVIDUAL COLLECTIVE' AND CHARACTERS EYES WHITED OUT AND REPLACED WITH SWIRLY EYES ON THE COLLABORATIVE WALL. RAW-UL TWITTERS THERE IS ANOTHER ONE AND EVERYONE STILL DOESN'T KNOW WHO DID IT.

SATURDAY: IC ROCK THE COWBELLS EVENT. AFTER A LONG NIGHT, AND WHEN THE GALLERY CLEARS ALL BUT IC MEMBERS, ICUC IS REVEALED.

NOW BEFORE I TELL YOU WHO IT IS, LET ME ADD THE DETAIL I SHOULD HAVE IN THE LAST POST. THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE PASTE UPS HAD TO BE A KEYHOLDER OF THE IC GALLERY. THE IC GALLERY WAS NOT BROKEN INTO. IT WAS NOT PUT UP MYSTERIOUSLY DURING AN EVENT OR OPEN HOURS. YEA, THE PIECES CLEARLY MOCKED ALL OF IC'S CHARACTERS BUT IT WAS CLEARLY A JOKE AND WOULD NOT BE TAKEN ANY FURTHER BY VANDALIZING OR DESTROYING ANYONE ELSE'S ARTWORK.

WITH ALL THAT SAID, LET ME TELL YOU WHO THESE PRANKSTERS ARE.....TIMOTHY G (OF IC AND DAT:AA), CRIS EDWARDS (OF IC), AND.....MYSELF (OF IC, DAT:AA, AND S&B). YES I PLAYED A PART OF IT AS ONE OF THE ARTISTS AND HELPERS. CRIS AND TIM CAME UP WITH THE IDEA A COUPLE DAYS BEFORE AND TUESDAY AFTERNOON, TOLD ME TO WAKE UP BECAUSE THEY HAD A 'SECRET MISSION' THEY WANTED ME TO BE A PART OF. I KNEW ALOT OF THE IC CHARACTERS SO I HELPED IN MOCKING THEM UP AS WELL. OUR INTENTIONS WERE NOT BAD, BUT JUST TO SHOW THAT PEOPLE IN IC CAN COME UP WITH A SUCCESSFUL AND AMAZING COLLABORATION. WE DID NOT START THIS ICUC PROJECT TO BE SELECTIVE AND LEAVE OUT ANYONE, BUT WHERE WOULD THE MYSTERY AND FUN BE WITHOUT THE GAME OF 'GUESS WHO'. WELL THE MYSTERY DRAGGED ON LONG ENOUGH AND THERE GOES YOUR ANSWER. ICUC IS TIM, CRIS, AND MYSELF. THE IC CREW GAVE US PROPS FOR PULLING OFF SUCH A STUNT AS WELL AS THE ART BUT WITH A BIG MYSTERY AND SECRET TO THE CREW LET TO BLAMING I DID NOT WANT TO HAPPEN AS WELL AS SUSPICION OF OUR GALLERY BEING UNSAFE. SO TO EVERYONE, ICUC IS NOT OUT THERE TO VANDALIZE YOUR ART BEING HELD IN THE GALLERY. YOUR ART PIECES ARE AS SAFE AS ANY OTHER ART GALLERY OUT THERE. THE MOCKS ON THE COLLABORATIVE WALL WERE TWEAKED WITH BECAUSE I KNEW THEY WERE GOING TO BE PAINTED OVER THE NEXT DAY ANYWAYS. EVERYONE IN IC IS VERY RESPONSIBLE AND VERY PROFESSIONAL WITH OUR GALLERY, BUT...WE STILL ARE HUMAN AND LIKE TO HAVE FUN TOO. I CAN HONESTLY TRUST EVERYONE IN IC WITH ANYTHING. I GUESS THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO SAY EXCEPT THIS IS ANOTHER PAGE IN THE HISTORY OF INDIVIDUAL COLLECTIVE. PEACE.

so i get back to vallejo, from san francisco and when i plug in my dead cellphone and turn it on, i get HELLLA texts about someone putting a big ass sticker in our gallery. i get to the gallery, and a bunch of Individual Collective are starting up at it talking and thinking who did it. it is a big ass wheatpaste of drawings of IC characters being mocked, all with swirl eyes. i want to know who did it!!!

Baby Dyno Cures the Diabetes Out of Young Faces and HUGE Tanooki

Spotlight Against Diabetes, put together by Circle K International, took place at SF State this past Friday. Me, Shwin, Ant, and Tim Guitarte (the new addition to Individual Collective who took his first dive into live painting at events) all worked on a mural while Christy took care of the merchandise table and captured the photos. It was an event for a good cause and awareness and i was glad to be a part of it.

In the end, we celebrated with some Sushi on Geary (where the sushi spots are 4 per block)

This Gallery Showcase is taking Classical or Academy style Fine Art and mashing it up with it's Popular opposite Lowbrow Art.

The artists in the show will create art using the classical techniques and style of Fine Art (High) with the focused subject matter of the pieces being Lowbrow (low). ( Fine Art style : Figure Drawing, Still Life, Land Scape,portraiture, photography etc. with subject matter often found in Lowbrow: Spray cans, Gothic, Hip-hop, pop surrealism, Punk, Urban Landscapes, youth etc.) For Examples see the Artist Banksy. There will be a brainstorming session for all artists involved in show.

Hey I.C. and Blog world! It's been a hectic start of February! I've been really busy working on Reprogrammed's promo comic for WonderCon this month so sorry for the no posts in a while.

On Tuesdays we’re open to any and every creative person who’d like to come in to see what we’re about or even just to session. If you live in Vallejo and you haven't heard about Individual Collective, catch onto the buzz. We already had our own gallery event last year opening and closing with crackin' nights of music and art mashups as well as tapioca express and alcohol mash ups.

We bridge the gap between the youth and the adults.

Criticism and Praise. Two powerful forces based on an opinion and speech.
Since the last time I updated, I've gotten 3 rejections from 3 different companies.
Since I've graduated school I've gotten a total of 17 rejections and peppered in those rejections were some sort of criticism or a half hearted excuse why I didn't get the job. On the other side of the coin, normal people and common folks will say things like " Your So Talented!", " You should be working for Lucas!", " Wow such a gift!" etc. I've been in the middle of these two fields for almost 2 years now and to be honest I'm totally confused!

Basically what this means is (for lack of a better term) I'm the Lukewarm Pro/Vis. Dev.-Artist i.e The "Nutrasweet/Equal/Sweet n' Low/Diet" of the artworld. Tastes great but, not like the real thing. It's really great to be recognized for your gifts and talent in art but , it sucks to have them constantly dismissed or rejected by the Entertainment Industry money driven standards. Well, I'm just blowing off steam and laughing at the same time about my cool quip I thought of.

A Beautiful Letdown: the low calorie substitue to your fattening Art & Entertainment Industry!
LMBO!!! Well God is still in control and he's making a special place for me in life and after this life!

Man now I really gotta get a Wii! This is the successor to Vanillaware hit Odin Sphere.
MDB has the same hand drawn Traditional Animation of Odin Sphere but the story is inspired by Japanese Mythology rather than Norse Mythology like Odin Sphere. Once again it's hook is not only the Action/RPG game play but Vanillaware has created an eye pleasing mythic Japan with the fantastic Character Design , Layouts, and the classic 2/D animation that most American Games and film companies use less of. Man if only US game companies would be brave enough to use the great US 2/D animators and do something along the lines of this game! Only if there were people who were brave enough to create a games that were not about sales but filled with creativity. Check it out yallz!

Hey UPdate on Moo..licious mural project. We're making major head way with this project! It's getting more exciting every week! The Past sessions have been really good! I think that from where we stand right now we are @ 75% closer to the finish! It's been absolutely fun painting with you guys. When there is more than 2 people working together its so much fun! This has been an amazing experience for me! Great Job IC! We're making things happen. Thank you Jesus! There is more to come in October. All of a sudden these girls come in and they start rappin! lol Nah but, they were filming an indie music video for "Cereal Thrillas". These hip-pop gals got down with their crew Spilled Milk in front us while we were painting. It was wild to watch people were looking into the store to see what was going on. We gave them a IC card and told them about us. Who knows what will come of it. The Director said that the vid will be on Youtube in 2 weeks. Wild colors, Cereal bling, man it was wild! Here's the rough of our mural in process. hopefully we'll have a full process set of pics after we finish. IC is making it's mark on Telegraph!

The Best of Times, The Worst of times

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times", some one said.

Well let's start with the Good News:

I had lunch in Emeryville with Pixar Studio Superstars Doug Dooley and none other than blog spot's and the pop art megastar BILL PRESSING!!!!! Doug, Bill, Kan, and I eat at an Indian Restaurant up the street from Pixar's Campus. It was fun talking about childhood memories , the animation world, and gaining some knowledge from some cool kids from one of the illlest animation studios world wide. After that me Kan went to Boarders and looked at art books and comics and caught up on life. Towards the end of the day we went to Hilltop Mall and took some pics since I won't see my bro for a while now that he lives and teaches in So Cal.

Second thing is Individual Collective got the chance of a life time, we're doing a mural at a unique restaurant called Mooliscious. Mooliscious is a cereal bar (yes , cereal bar) where you can have your choice of 40 kinds of breakfast cereal anytime you want. Not only that but their is all sorts of cereal themed foods! But anyhow, IC is creating a mural and doing some stuff to add to this totally hip restaurant. Our Mural has a cereal theme and if your a kid who lived through the 80's and 90's you'll dig our work and this store. We've never done something like this together outside of live art and the chalk event in Napa earlier this year.

And for the Bad News:

I got a new job and as of last week I got fired. I've been struggling financially this majority of this month. Truth is I wanted to quit the job 2 weeks after I got it, but I feel humiliated. I've never been fired from any of my jobs in the past. Man this year has been filled with really awesome ups and major downs. I can't wait for the day that I get a job in my field and have the satisfaction of working in a place where I have respect and dignity. I've had major troubles with my faith and now I feel kinda bad cause God is making a way while I was angry and frustrated by my circumstances.

Even though the times are tough, God's still good and as I rejoice he's turns my sorrows into joy.
As I looked at these photos it made me feel happy about the good things I have in my life and the good things that have happend this year.

IC @ 111 Minna: Friday Night was live!

Man things are really moving for Individual Collective!! IC and I got our first big chance to do live art at famed Gallery/Club 111 Minna in San Francisco through Oh Dang! Magazine. It was a late and wild night filled with great art and awesome Hip-Hop performances by some new friends like Nico Villamor, the amazing and gorgeous female MC Hopie Spitshard , and my new fave Hip-Hop group from LA Giant Panda who were fun and fierce!! Before we went to Minna, we made a pitstop by a shop that our IC cohorts Swamps and Bridges were bombing a dressing room (bombing=painting).
The shop was looking hip, even the restroom was dope! After that we got to Minna about 8pm and found out we didn't start untill 11pm.... So we relaxed , set up, got some drinks, break danced, and then prepared for the show and when the clock struck 11pm the people came in like a herd G! Nico was up first and tore the stage up with his hot song " I'm Going". Then the lovely Hopie Spitshard came in to drop science on what a real female MC is and can do in heels on stage. Lastly Giant Panda came in and like the amazing creature they were bigger than life! They were cool dudes! Really down to earth and inspiring. After hearing their stuff and the other artists I wanted to do a custom painting for all of them! (coming soon..) IC did a split theme; a Giant panda with dimonds and a awesome piece by Swamps and Bridges . Man it was late and real fun.
I got to see good friends like Saif, Richard, Janice and my lovely friend Kay who was the inspiration/model for the fourth painting in my previous blog post. There are more shows to come and more art on the way. Stay Tuned please!
